ABOUT ME...
My background is adult nursing, having worked in Intensive Care and hepatology clinical research. In 2022, I stepped away from clinical work to pursue a Masters in Public Health and explore new areas of healthcare. I completed my Masters in 2024, and now work as a volunteering and training coordinator for an Oxfordshire mental health charity.
Additionally, I work with the CQC as an Expert by Experience for mental health and autism/learning disability services, including conducting Mental Health Act Reviews and service inspections. I am a qualified autistic co-trainer for the Oliver McGowan mandatory training programme.
I have lived experience with complex PTSD, autism and ADHD, and type 1 diabetes. I am also a survivor of sexual violence.
I am passionate about mental health, sexual and reproductive health and rights, and care for the LGBTQIA+ community. Voluntary work is also incredibly important to me- I volunteered at the organisation I currently work for for 2 years whilst studying, worked as a campaign leader with Youth StopAIDS for a year to campaign for a world with 0 HIV stigma and 0 AIDS related deaths, and also served as a trustee for my local Healthwatch for almost 3 years.
